Following are some statistics of interest for selected precincts in Madison County.
Anderson Ward 5, Precinct 6
Republican Committeeman: Currently Vacant. Votes at Central Services. Boundary: East of Layton Road, West of Raible. South of 8th Street, North of 11th St (except for Maryland Dr.). Some streets/neighborhoods included: Creedmoor, Maryland Drive, Golf View, Meadow Drive, Ironwood, Somerville, Beauvoir, Spring Valley, Meadowcrest, Greenbriar Rd., Bittersweet, Redbud, Shellbark, Urban Dr. Note: Does NOT include Edgewood or River Forest)
2004 statistics of note:
There were 1134 registered voters. 809 voted (71% turnout). 193 voted straight Republican. 92 voted straight Democrat.
Bush received 536 votes (67%), Daniels 497 votes (63%), Steve Carter, 517 votes (66%). Mike Pence, however, was the top vote getter at 574 votes (73%).
Other votes of interest: John Richwine was the local Republican with the highest vote total at 508 votes (66%). The Democrat with the highest vote total was Teri Austin with 434 votes (56%).
The lowest Republican vote was Marvin Scott with 333 votes (43%). The lowest local Republican was Ron Carrell with 344 votes (44%). Dem Mel Fox was the lowest overall vote getter with only 206 votes (26%). The lowest local Dem was Buddy Patterson with 232 votes.
The race that had the most not vote for any candidate (called "undervotes") was for Surveyor with 50 undervotes. The race with the least undervotes was for President and Governor with only 11 undervotes each

Anderson Ward 5, Precinct 3

Republican Committeeman: Lani Czarniecki. Votes at Forest Hills School. Boundary: East of Raible Avenue and West of Madison Avenue. South of North Drive and Hillcrest Ave. North of VanBuskirk Road.
2004 statistics of note:
There were 1048 registered voters. 770 voted (73% turnout). 204 voted straight Republican. 57 voted straight Democrat.
Bush received 549 votes (72%), Daniels 531 votes (69%), Steve Carter, 539 votes (72%). Mike Pence, however, was the top vote getter at 605 votes (80%).
Other votes of interest: John Richwine was the local Republican with the highest vote total at 546 votes (75%). The Democrat with the highest vote total was Evan Bayh with 369 votes (49%). The local Dem with the highest vote was Teri Austin with 304 votes (47%).
The lowest Republican vote was Marvin Scott with 370 votes (50%). The lowest local Republican was Ron Carrell with 399 votes (53%). Dem Mel Fox was the lowest overall vote getter with only 145 votes (19%). The lowest local Dem was Buddy Patterson with 173 votes.
The race that had the most not vote for any candidate (called "undervotes") was for North District Commissioner with 37 undervotes. The race with the least undervotes was for Governor with only 4 undervotes.
Union 1

Republican Committeeman: Mike Phillips filed for this office and will assume the duties soon. Votes at Highland High School. Boundary: East of Rangeline Road. West of 300 East. South of 200 North. North of SR 32.

There were 1248 registered voters. 902 voted (72% turnout). 185 voted straight Republican. 116 voted straight Democrat.
Bush received 609 votes (68%), Daniels 542 votes (61%), Steve Carter, 594 votes (67%). Mike Pence, however, was the top vote getter at 644 votes (73%).
Other votes of interest: Jack Lutz got 562 votes (63%) and was the local Republican with the highest vote total. The Democrat with the highest vote total was Evan Bayh with 522 votes (60%).
The local Dem with the highest vote was Ned Dunnichay with 446 votes (53%).
The lowest Republican vote was Marvin Scott with 349 votes (40%). The lowest local Republican was Jim Roan with 356 votes. Dem Mel Fox was the lowest overall vote getter with 233 votes (26%). The lowest local Dem was Ted Waymire with 296 votes (35%).
The race that had the most not vote for any candidate (called "undervotes") was for Coroner with 54 undervotes. The race with the least undervotes was for Governor with only 5 undervotes.
 
Union 2
Republican Committeeman: Scott Tischler. Votes at Highland High School. Boundary: East of 300 East to County line. South of 200 North. North of SR 32.
2004 statistics of note:
There were 1053 registered voters. 815 voted (77% turnout). 190 voted straight Republican. 76 voted straight Democrat.
Bush received 580 votes (71%), Daniels 539 votes (67%), Steve Carter, 576 votes (73%). Mike Pence, however, was the top vote getter at 618 votes (77%).
Other votes of interest: Jack Lutz got 524 votes (66%) and Larry Crenshaw was the local Republican with the highest vote total at 544 votes. The Democrat with the highest vote total was Evan Bayh with 410 votes (53%).
The local Dem with the highest vote was Ned Dunnichay with 365 votes (47%).
The lowest Republican vote was Marvin Scott with 363 votes (47%). The lowest local Republican was Jim Roan with 403 votes. Dem Mel Fox was the lowest overall vote getter with 180 votes (22%). The lowest local Dem was Buddy Patterson with 225 votes.
The race that had the most not vote for any candidate (called "undervotes") was for North District Commissioner with 41 undervotes. The race with the least undervotes was for President with only 3 undervotes.
